A 7-day Zanzibar Safari is a comprehensive tour that offers visitors an opportunity to explore the beauty and culture of Zanzibar Island. It typically starts with the arrival in Zanzibar, followed by an exploration of the island, including visits to the spice plantations, Stone Town, the Prison Island, and other historic and cultural sites.
Days 3 to 6 offer the chance to engage in island activities such as snorkeling and diving to see the vibrant marine life, visiting the beaches and trying out water sports, or taking a sunset dhow cruise.
The tour concludes with a day of departure from Zanzibar, allowing visitors to take with them memories of the beautiful island and its rich culture and history.
Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar
Upon arrival at Zanzibar International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative and transferred to your beachfront resort. Take some time to settle in and relax, perhaps enjoying a swim in the clear waters of the Indian Ocean or simply lounging on the white-sand beach.
Day 2: Stone Town and Prison Island Tour
Today, you will take a tour of Stone Town, the historic heart of Zanzibar. You will visit some of the most important landmarks, including the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, and the Arab Quarter. In the afternoon, you will head to Prison Island, where you can see the giant tortoises that are native to the area.
Day 3: Spice Farm and Jozani Forest Tour
Today, you will visit a spice farm and learn about the various spices that are grown on the island, including cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon. You will also visit Jozani Forest, where you can see a variety of unique wildlife, including the rare red colobus monkey.
Day 4: Island Activities
Take a day to relax and enjoy some of the many activities available on the island. You might choose to go snorkeling or diving in the crystal-clear waters, go fishing, or simply sunbathe on the beach.
Day 5: Chumbe Island Marine Park
Today, you will take a boat trip to Chumbe Island Marine Park, a beautiful and unspoiled coral island. You will have the opportunity to see a wide variety of marine life, including colorful fish, sea turtles, and coral formations.
Day 6: Zanzibar Cultural Tour
Today, you will take a cultural tour of Zanzibar, visiting a local village and experiencing the island’s rich heritage. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the history of Zanzibar, from its days as a major center of the slave trade to its recent history as a center of the spice trade.
Day 7: Departure from Zanzibar
Today marks the end of your Zanzibar safari. You will be transferred to the airport for your departing flight, leaving with memories of a truly unforgettable experience.
